Daryn Lane is a fourth-year student at Guilford College in Greensboro, North Carolina. She is pursuing a BA in photography and Latin American studies.

She recently returned from a semester studying abroad at The Center for Mesoamerican Studies (CIRMA) in Antigua, Guatemala.

This semester she is enrolled in and, along with her professor and fellow classmates,  is helping to reinvent her Photography II class. This “reinvention” includes experimenting with Caffenol, an alternative developing and darkroom printing process. Throughout the course, the students will also be completing a collaborative project with students at Guaruma, an after-school education program based on photography and environmental awareness in rural Honduras. The end goal is to work together to provide scholarships to help Guaruma students attend university in Honduras.
